Relevant: Alumni Show

August 16 - October 26, 2014
Main Gallery

Exhibit Overview

Over the past four summers, the Kimball Art Center hosted an artist-in-residence program called RELEVANT, that brought together a select group of talented and dedicated undergraduate and graduate level art students from across the country to be mentored by nationally recognized professional artists. During their 8-days with the mentors, student artists would not only work on an exhibition piece, but also would attend workshops and round-table discussions with industry professionals designed to provide the students with a greater understanding of some of the skills necessary to become successful, full-time career artists. To showcase the success of the graduate artists, the Kimball will showcase the work of past RELEVANT artists and mentors from the classes of 2010 through 2013 in our Main Gallery.

Each A.R.T.S tour for the RELEVANT exhibit will include a free 45 minute guided tour as well as a 45 minute art project that can be completed at the Kimball Art Center or in schools. In addition supplemental K – 12 lesson plans integrating the arts with core subjects are available online.

A.R.T.S. School Tours of this educational exhibit are available free of charge thanks to funding from Vail Resorts and Canyons. To schedule a free school tour please contact
