Students will create a Maynard Dixon style landscape collage by assembling construction paper in parts. This project is a challenge that requires them to think about perspective, explain that as things go farther back in distance, objects become smaller. Also explain point-of-view in reference to perspective. For example, if one is close to the ground objects go higher on the page and if one is in the air objects look smaller. Students are simplifying the landscape just as Maynard Dixon did.
