The 40th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival is pleased to welcome over 220 artists to historic Main Street this August 1-2. The following categories give a brief overview of the great variety of media these artists work in. With so much to choose from the Park City Kimball Arts Festival has something for everyone. Ceramics
Artists specializing in ceramics bring all original clay work to the festival. From hand built to wheel thrown ceramics, the artists at the festival take clay and turn it into their own unique style.
Digital Imaging
Digital imaging gives an artist flexibility in communicating their vision through any original, electronically processed image. However, this category does include digital photography as well.
Drawing
This discipline includes any original work made with chalk, charcoal, ink, pastel, pencil or
pen.
Fiber
Fiber includes wearable and non-wearable original work made of a fibrous material.
No machine screened patterns or forms of mass production are
permitted at our festival.
Glass
Artists working with glass bring original work in which the primary material is glass. No forms of
mass production are allowed.
Jewelry
With unending creative options artists creating jewelry work with precious and non-precious metals,
gemstones, enamel, glass, clay and fiber. No commercial casts, molds,
settings or production studio work are allowed.
Metal Work
Metalwork includes original, functional and non-sculptural metalwork.
Mixed Media
Mixed media includes collage and handmade paper. It incorporates
more than one type of material that is non-sculptural.
Painting
An ever popular medium painting requires artists to create original painted works using acrylic, oil, tempera or
watercolor.
Printmaking
This includes hand-pulled, original prints that are signed and numbered
in limited editions by the artist. Traditional methods accepted include
etchings, engravings, intaglio, monotype, monoprint, relief printing, serigraphs
and block or woodblock prints.
Sculpture
Sculptors create original, non-functional, three-dimensional work of any material.
Traditional Photography
This requires photographers to make prints from the original negative
and be processed by the artist or under artist’s direct supervision.
Wood
Wood artists create original carved, hand-tooled or machine-worked wood. This category includes
furniture.
