Geralyn Dreyfous

Film has become a part of our cultural landscape. Standing on the shoulders of Sundance, film exhibition and production are vibrant in this state. During the evening, Dreyfous will discuss and show clips from projects she has championed over the years as an Executive Producer and co-founder of Impact Partners.

Credits include Academy Award winning Born Into Brothels; Emmy nominated The Day My God Died; and multiple film festivals winners such as Kick Like a Girl, In A Dream,Dhamma Brothers,Project Kashmir,Miss Representation, and Connected. Impact Partners has been involved in the financing of over 25
including: The Cove, which won the 2010 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature; The Garden, which was nominated for the 2009 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature; Freeheld, which won the 2008 Academy Award for Best
Documentary Short Film; and The Ghosts of Abu Ghraib, which won the 2007 Emmy Award for Best Documentary Special. Eight of Dreyfous’ films have premiered at past Sundance Film Festivals with five scheduled to premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

Park City, UT- Kimball Art Center presents Art Talk: Park City Collects onThursday, December 15, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the Main Gallery. This evening will be hosted by Curator, Linda Tesner and will feature a panel of many of the collectors from Park City in this rare opportunity to hear their stories. This event is free and open to the public. Art Talks are part of a monthly series and are free and open to the public.

Why do people collect art?  Find out their stories behind masterpieces from Damien Hirst, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, William Wegman, Maynard Dixon, William Morris, Doug Snow and Leo Villereal. Tesner curated the show bringing together 60 works of art from 14 different collections in this one of a kind exhibit. The panelists featured, who will focus on their experience as collectors are: Judy and Tom Billings, Michael Levinthal, Janet and Jack Massimino, Maren and Matt Mullin, Ben and Hillary Nitka, Joanne and Bill Shiebler, Buzz and Polly Strasser and Jeffrey Wright.
