Kimball Art Center | Young Artists' Academy | Blake F. Peterson

I am a sixteen-year-old sophomore at Park City High School. I was born and raised in Park City, and I have always had a passion for art, photography, film and design. My first interests were in designing detailed house plans and sketching fashion ideas. In my early teens I turned to photography and film on my own and through school and community education classes.

For the past three years I have been a member of the Young Artists’ Academy at the Kimball Art Center, giving me the opportunity to learn many forms of art expression, including painting, mosaics, ceramics, photography and more. The YAA has also included exposure to community arts events sponsored by the Kimball Art Center including the annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival, the Kimball Auction and Gala, Arte Latino and more.

My current works are “Hey You!  Take A Seat”, a painted chair inspired by the works of Roy Lichtenstein, and “Music Is Love”, a multi-media piece featuring symbols of music through the years.

Blake is currently the president of  the Young Artists’ Academy.
