There has never been this one specific event, but for as long as I can remember I’ve been creating art. It’s always felt like a part of my life and it always will be.
Art became this passion so deep within me I couldn’t stop if I tried. I have to say, it’s the same feeling I get every time I pick up a paintbrush or look at a fresh white piece of paper that’s just begging to be something unique and beautiful!
The Young Artists’ Academy may not seem like much at first glance, just a bunch of loud, rowdy teenagers who like to talk, eat food, and make art. But, if you look at it more closely there’s more there. We have bonds, friends, laughter, and yes, even art. This is what I find to be one of the most meaningful things about the Young Artists’ Academy. It’s a place where you can go to enjoy the company of people with similar interests. You can open up to these people without the fear of being judged. We are all very supportive of each other, and we have fun no matter what were doing. Jenny is amazing and also very supportive of us all. We get the chance to do things that are beyond the everyday art classes. I love the Young Artists’ Academy and it’s a blast being a part of it.
My art related goals include applying for and hopefully winning sterling scholar in art. I also hope to obtain scholarships and grants to help pay for art education at my desired college of Pratt Institute. From there, I want to continue making art for the rest of my life. While I am not sure what medium I will focus on, I trust that all will fall into place as life goes along.
Art in my eyes is the purest form or truth. It is a way of seeing through the artist’s eyes, at how they perceive the world. On a different level an artist also puts him or herself into their work. That would have to be what I love the most about art.
