<div> Come explore the studios and make 2D work.&nbsp;From painting, prints and mixed media, students can create anything they imagine.&nbsp;There is no instructor in the classroom, but children ages 1.5 to 5 are welcome to come and experiment and play with a parent or guardian who is 18 or older. Space is limited to eight.&nbsp;Each open studio is two hours long. Students can stay as long as they would like to play! Students must register at least one day in advance.</div>

Making Pottery Together: Hand Building

<div> Learn about the pottery studio as you and a family member create hand built pottery. Students learn about the studio and then explore coils, slabs and pinch pots to create unique art. Pieces can be functional or non functional. Students finish the pieces by adding colored slips and under glazes to color their pieces. Due to drying and firing times, clay will be ready to pick up 10 days after class. An adult or guardian must accompany the child or teen in the class. Class is limited to 10 students.<span> Register at least four days in advance to reserve your space in class.</span></div>

<p> This is an introductory one-day workshop for all levels of artists. Encaustic is an ancient painting technique using hot beeswax mixed with resin and pigment. During the past few years it has become a popular medium for contemporary artists because of its lush luminosity, and translucent qualities and can be used with collage materials, image transfers and photography and on its own. During the workshop, demonstrations will cover techniques such as safety, prepping the surface, heating and working with paint, mixing colors, creating smooth and textured surfaces, line and edging, collage and more. Each participant will complete one or more small encaustic paintings during the workshop. Space is limited, students must register at least 5 days in advance to reserve their space in class.</p>

<div> Tots create ghosts, goblins, spiders and pumpkins from clay.&nbsp;Students add coils and pinched forms to create their very own spooky sculpture or candy dish. To create the form of the monster, students will throw a small pot on the wheel. Students must be 4 &ndash; 5 and class is limited to six students. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 10 days after class has ended. Parents will be contacted when pieces are ready for pick up.</div>

<div> Create a unique canvas tote and candy bag for Halloween.&nbsp;Students use glitter, paint, feathers and various art supplies to create a spooky and fun bag.</div>
