Fat Paw

Simply put, Fat Paw is a psychedelic groove band, but a better description would be 'improvisational psychedelic desert music.' The style is closely associated with that of the Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic, considering that the improvisational guitar jams are the driving force behind the listeners' communal spirit, which has actually become quite reputable. Fat Paws' sound however, is indisputably and uniquely their own. A new genre altogether seems to have naturally developed by those forced to classify the sound, that being 'desert music,' a fitting description immediately recognized when listening to Wray's signature and dancing guitars. Doug Wright's vast knowledge and background in the acoustic standup and electric bass adds a fluidity and grooviness that cannot easily be matched. Drummer Jet Redd's energizing and driving rhythms and Rhett Card's transportational Hammond organ trips make the music that much more decadent and exhilirating.
